I shot Andrea and her daughter, Becca, when Andrea was still pregnant. The minute I walked into their house I felt almost unnaturally comfortable. Photography has a way of stripping my manners, anyhow. My lens caps rest atop mantel pieces, layers of clothing find themselves among the native laundry, but this was different. Andrea is incredibly warm and real. Our relationship evolved more so from the bud of being moms, which made the photos a bit more intimate and natural.
Melanie is now 3 months old, and from the crying, sleepless nights has emerged smiling. I fell in love the moment I saw her grin. These are some of my favorites… (side note: Becca was sick, which means I get to return soon to photograph these amazing people even more.)
