The Old Crone is the wise woman, the healer, and the caretaker. I do my best to embrace these traits in all I do. Photography for me is a very personal connection to the land and the creatures and people who inhabit it. The beauty of real life isn’t always easy to see in the hustle. My aim is to humbly capture the ordinary moments that make life magical. The ones that are sometimes difficult to notice or seem so fleeting. I intentionally work from a place of freedom and play. I like to believe that through my photos I am giving something special to those I photograph…a pause button on joy, so they may look back on it whenever they like. In this way, I honor and nurture the gifts of vulnerability and presence my subjects have given me.
How I work:
I use natural lighting. I don’t ask people to pose, though I may make suggestions. First and foremost, I want to create a comfortable atmosphere; one that doesn’t make you feel like you need stare at the camera and smile. This is especially important with kids. Their joy will be captured when they are free of worry and constraints. You’ll want the photos of them jumping in puddles and climbing up trees, I promise.
For family photography or portraits:
The first hour is $125. Every hour after is $75. This includes editing time and a flash drive with edited photos as hi-res jpegs. Locations farther than 20 miles will include a small fee for gas.
For small events, including weddings:
The first hour is $200. Every hour after is $150. This includes editing time and a flash drive with edited photos as hi-res jpegs. Locations farther than 20 miles will include a small fee for gas.
Please note: I do not use any extra equipment other than my camera and lenses. Low light situations are doable, but I will not be using a flash.
